I talked to quite a few people at Youmacon this past weekend, and a common theme seems to be: Steam Powered Giraffe must be finicky about where they play.But the truth is we’ll play any convention if you can fly us out there. We’ve had much success in our concerts around San Diego, and even privately organized events in other parts of America did amazingly for even one night of performance.
We’ve never turned anyone down. We’ll play at your event/convention- the biggest hurdle is travel expenses. 7 round trip tickets gets costly. But you’ll also be glad to hear some of our performance areas were crowd funded and the organizers didn’t have to spend a dime on us outside of gear rental.
This year we want to travel as much as we can playing concerts, and I’m seeking to fill some gaps in our schedule in January, February and April- but any month is worth investigating. If your convention/event has been considering utilizing us, let us know.
Our demograph stretches all over. So don’t hesitate to inquire about us for your event: be it steampunk, science fiction, anime, goth, furry- we’ll make it happen.

This is how I look everyday before and after the zoo. Even without robot makeup I still get some weird looks!
Those are indeed the pants I always wear under my asymmetrical vest, and yes you can see them in action with all the belts and the trench coat… on nights I play Brass Goggles.
I typically tend to skew towards the futuristic sorts of robots, with clockworks and automatons being more of an old-fashioned whimsy, but I really have fallen irretrievably in love with these guys, because they are just so charming and gorgeous and PERFECT.

Sorry to all of you who joined me in livestream (where my brain totally ollied into the Sun and died a horrible and painful death as a consequence) because I didn’t finish this at the time BUT I HAVE DONE SO HERE YOU GO. Idk maybe I just needed to hang upside-down on the sofa and plays chords badly for a while before trying this thing.
Art Deco is rad as hell and I can’t do it justice so maybe I’ll try it again some time.
The Jon is the cutest thing made of sprockets and springs, end of.
